Q: What is your style?

A: My style is artistic, elegant, romantic and infused with natural light. I love the Mediterranean light and I make the most of it. I try to avoid as much as I can flash light! I love to give my images a Fine Art look, so I make conscious use of blur, out of focus effects, true colors and a little grain to emulate film.

Q: How many weddings do you shoot per year?

A: My business model is based on a low-volume, high quality product and service. I shoot around 25 weddings per year to allow for the creativity and art that I like to imprint in every single of my reportages.

Also, apart from creativity reasons, I like to give my couples an excellent customer service and attention to detail.

A: How much experience do you have?

Q: I have been lucky enough to photograph weddings since 2005! And my style is constantly evolving and improving.

Q: Do you travel outside Mallorca?

A: Absolutely! I love traveling and I will be more than happy to do so to capture your special day. I especially love Mediterranean weddings.

Q: What equipment do you use?

A: Right now I use Canon 5d Mark III and Mark II cameras, but I also use my Canon 1v film body. Always paired with excellent lenses.

Q: What are your rates?

A: Wedding coverage starts at 3,000€ (plus 21% vat) for a full day (9 hours) Photography coverage. Please send me an email to enquire for our price list. If your needs are specific, I’d be more than happy to give you a custom quote. For Videography, a full day´s coverage is 1,900 euros plus vat.

Q: What do we need to do to secure our wedding date with you?

A: First of all, thanks! To reserve a wedding date, 40% deposit is due. A contract is signed during our pre-wedding meeting, two weeks before the wedding.
During our pre-wedding meeting we will also go through the final timings and details and the 60% balance will also need to be settled.

Q: Do you have a studio?

A: I work from home as my work involves shooting exclusively on location.

Q: I’m not photogenic!

A: Ha! If I had a cent for every time I hear this! I believe if you’re having fun and being yourself, it’ll show in the pictures. That’s where I come in. If you’re like most people (me included), having your picture taken can be awkward and even intimidating. You don’t know what to do, where to look. Well not to worry. It’s my mission to help you feel at ease, relaxed and very much “you.”

I also love working with people who are open to new ideas, who are fun and who aren’t afraid to get their feet wet or drip a little ice cream on their shirt. (Ok, you are only going to wear your wedding outfit once! )

Q: I don’t like the uncomfortable, cheesy posed shots, will you do those?

A: No, and you are probably my new best friend. In my photography, I strive to capture real moments and genuine emotions. The moments that when you look back on your photographs, they make you feel. Moments of happiness, of dance, of tears, of surprise, of love.

However, having said that, I strongly suggest allowing a little time for a bride and groom session on the wedding day.  I will direct you and position you in the best light so you can interact naturally with each other for a more natural result. This ensures you will look and feel your absolute best. For the rest, I’m just there to document your story.

Q: When should I start getting ready on the wedding day?

A: When I arrive to your hotel or home, your make-up and hair need to be completely finished please. Based on my experience of many years, this is what works best. This way any photos I take of you will be looking beautiful and you will make the most of my time with you. I like being able to photograph you in full glory before I leave for the ceremony, with your bridesmaids, mum and dad and on your own.

Q: How many photos will we get and when?

A: Every wedding is a little different so it’s hard to give an exact number, but a 9 hour wedding typically yields around 500-600 images. You will receive a beautiful downloadable online gallery -which will be online for one year- with colour jpegs 8 weeks after your wedding day. This is an excellent way to share your images with friends and family.

Q: Do you retouch or edit all the photos?

A: Yes, every image you receive is edited and delivered in jpeg. Images to go on an album will receive even more enhancing if necessary, although I try not to over-edit them too much.

Q: Will my photos appear on your web or blog?

A: First of all, if that happens it means I did a great job and I am proud of it! The only way I have to make a living is by showing my work to other couples. Hence, yes, by hiring my services you accept that copyright belongs to Sandra Mañas, who may reproduce, publish, exhibit and use any images as sample of work or to be shown to prospective clients on or off-line. You are absolutely free to use your images for any non-commercial purposes, such as sharing them with friends and family, printing, uploading on your web or blog (credit needs to be given to photographer). Please let me know if you have any questions.

Q: How many photos are included in your albums?

A: My albums are completely customizable so it will depend on the type of album and number of pages you choose. Please ask me for further information.

Q: When will the album be ready?

A: The Wedding Album is usually ready within 3 months after you give us your proposed selection.

Q: Do you offer Fine Art Albums?

A: Yes, in fact, all of my albums are! Printed on the best cotton or fibre-based paper, museum and archival quality, with the best leathers and micro leathers.

Q: Do you release unedited or reject images?

A: I do not release unedited images or rejects. The main reason for this is because as an artist I capture images with the final product in mind, and editing in a part of that process. It´s like asking a chef to give you the ingredient leftovers from the dish he just prepared.

Q: How do you safe keep our images?

A: Once a wedding or portrait session is over, I immediately transfer images to my computer and I make multiple copies of the images on two different external hard drives. In case of theft, equipment failure, or operator error, your pictures are always safe!

Q: Do you take any formal photos?

A: A wedding day is a huge family event, and it may be the only opportunity to get pictures of the whole family together, so I am more than happy to cover these photos . We recommend 6-8 groups which should take no more than 15-20 minutes to complete.

Q: Do you have an assistant or another photographer?

A: I prefer to shoot alone. This approach allows me to remain as unobtrusive as possible, something my clients have loved! For large weddings a second photographer and/or assistant will be recommended.

Q: Are there any hidden costs?

A: Prices on the rates list need to be added 21% VAT tax. Shipping of the albums is not included in the prices. Apart from this, absolutely not, once you decide on coverage and album, that’s it. If you decide you want to buy additional products after the wedding, that is entirely at your discretion.

Q: Should we see each other before the ceremony (also called First Look)?

A: This is definitely a personal decision you and your partner should discuss when deciding the timeline of your wedding, but for me it is a big yes.

Seeing each other before the ceremony allows time to relax, connect, get portraits of the two of you done ahead of time, and just be together for a little bit before the madness starts. This will also give you more time to spend with your guests and family during cocktail. Imagine being able to actually enjoy your own cocktail hour and reception and mingle with your family & friends, instead of missing that time to take formal photos!

Trust me when I say the First Look is a wonderful addition and will allow for a less stressful day. In any case, the most important thing you can do for each other is to figure out what you want, regardless of traditions and the desires of others. Then go with that!

Q: Do you bring backup equipment?

A: YES. Any photographer documenting something as monumental as a wedding should have backup equipment with them at all times. I always have at least one backup camera body in arms reach, in the unfortunate case one malfunctions, and numerous lenses and flashes to use.

Q: What does an engagement session look like?

A: I love to do engagement sessions, and it’s a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera with your photographer before the big day! All sessions are done in natural light, at a location or multiple locations of our choosing.

Photographs can then be used for invitations, save-the-dates, guest books, or part of the decor for your wedding day! These sessions usually last for two hours. Please email me for more details.



Q: Do we need to pose for the video and how long does the final edited wedding video last?

A: No, we like natural, documentary style videos, but cooperation from the couple is always appreciated. Regarding time, our videos are usually edited around 30 mins so that they are dynamic and fun. Speeches are included in full on a separate chapter.

Q: Do you film the wedding video in High Definition?

A: Yes, we film all our weddings in HD so that you can watch your day in all its glory on your flat screen TV. This is delivered on a pen drive or via VimeoPro, as DVDs do not allow for such quality.

Q: When we´ll we get the wedding video?

A: Our aim is to have it ready within 3 months of the wedding day.

Q: Can I make changes to the final edited video?

A: In the unlikely event that you wish to change anything from the final edited video, please contact me for a custom quote.
