A day-after photoshoot, sometimes called Trash-the-Dress session, is a photo session that we do with the bride and groom after the wedding day. The are many advantages of having a day-after photo session. First, the couple is wayyyy more relaxed! And we have wayyyy more time to do whatever we want, try different locations, poses, non-poses, and fun stuff…And finally, we get to trash the dress or if we want to, get our feet in the water, do something a bit out of the ordinary like lay down on the sand, or do something more sexy…you get the point!
So it´s cool to have a day-after photoshoot, and in Mallorca we are spoilt for locations. Warning!! Beaches are massively crowded in the summer in Mallorca and most of them are not too big. So rocks and cliffs are your best friends, alternatively, run for the hills and the countryside! I love the countryside too, it´s so pretty. I especially love vineyards and olive trees, and antique stone walls.
Alicja and Tobias had originally planned their wedding for 2020 but then covid happened and they decided to move their big event to 2022. The couple lives in Berlin and has two gorgeous red-hair identical twins (that I was unable to differentiate all along!) and were so much fun to watch running around. And yahooooo! their wedding at Cap Rocat was spectacular and it was so much joy to see that after waiting for so long, everything turned out great at the end (as it always does…). The couple also had a great welcome party event the day before at a beautiful finca in the countryside with pool, Cuban music, lots of speeches, laughter, a BBQ and more.
Today I just wanted to share with you some of my favourite images from the day-after shoot at Santanyi. We did not get carried away in the sense of trashing the dress (and one of the dresses that Alicja wore was brand new) but I am very happy with how beautiful the images turned out. As you know I edit my images in a timeless and elegant way, with no crazy filters and soft colours. I like the real film aesthetic very much and try to emulate it whenever possible.
Thanks A + T for having me to capture such an amazing weekend! Wedding Planner: Mallorca Hochzeiten.
