This surprise engagement at El Olivo was set up in a secluded spot at the Belmond La Residencia Hotel. Bill, the soon-to-be fiancé, reached out to me a few weeks in advance to plan the proposal. Bill mentioned that he and his girlfriend Chloé would be traveling from the US. He wanted to surprise her just before sunset. We decided that Bill would propose at that exact spot of El Mirador while I stayed hidden to capture the moment.

We also planned the best time to start the photo shoot. It would coincide with the perfect lighting and the timing of their dinner. After the proposal, the newly engaged couple would head to El Olivo Restaurant. The private terrace was decorated with red rose petals, and candles, and a romantic dinner was prepared for them.
