Heeeyyy!!! Today I wanted to share with you all this fabulous destination wedding in Mallorca at the stunning Son Julià Country House & Spa. This impressive and peaceful restored 15h century mansion is located in the beautiful countryside. I like the fact that it has vineyards just outside the parking lot because that is a lovely spot for photographs, on top of the gorgeous countryside all around it. What impressed me the most the first time I visited it (a long time ago) was its Oriental room, which is quite unique in Mallorca.
Rebecca & Eric, the bride and groom, come originally from the U.S. but currently live in the UK. They are both Mechanical Engineers and met at one of the companies they worked for in the US 8 years ago. They became inseparable ever since. I loved how expressive and spontaneous Rebecca looked in the photos, which gave me the opportunity to capture huge smiles, giggles, and laughter throughout the day. I was also happy to see that she had made a lovely guest book album with the photos from our session back in April. She put it on display for everyone to sign it. I love it when my photos are printed and not just stored in a computer.
The couple requested a First Look, which is a session with the couple before the ceremony, when they both see each other for the first time in their wedding attire. I like them because emotions usually run high and there are tears of joy, hugs and kisses that would not usually happen otherwise. The only problem was that on the day of the wedding there was a heat wave from Africa and it was freaking hot! So hot that it was impossible to be outside for 5 mins and not feel like suffocating. So hot that the bride and groom quickly changed into shorts and a T-shirt right after the first dance.
The First Look session was scheduled at around 3 pm so it was impossible to be outside at that time of the day. So we did the whole session on the corridor of the second floor, which luckily for us, was quite nice. Then 5 mins of photos outside in the shade, followed by the formal family group shots. After the ceremony and cocktail we moved into the Oriental room for dinner and dance. I love the atmosphere there, check it out by yourself!
Rebecca wore a stunning Vera Wang dress and Jimmy Choos. Wedding celebrant Annie at Awhitehotwedding.com. Hair and makeup Susie Kenneth. Flowers by Orhibea, and coordination by Son Julià.
After the wedding Rebecca sent me a beautiful Thank You card saying:
“Thanks so much for shooting our wedding! As you could see from our guest book, we absolutely loved the last set of pictures you took. We are so excited to see the wedding pictures. My only regret is that due to the heat, we forgot to get a shot by the olive tree. Maybe for our 1st anniversary we´ll drag my dress and do it all over again!
We really enjoyed working with you and appreciate your time. Can´t wait! Thanks again, Rebecca & Eric.”
Thanks to Rebecca + Eric for having me at your beautiful Mallorca destination wedding at Son Julia. It was a pleasure meeting you and turning your love story into wonderful memories. XXX Sandra
