Natalia and Nicolás, a newly engaged couple from Miami, were traveling to Europe in June and asked me if I could help them commemorate this special milestone with an engagement shoot. Of course, I was excited too! They were staying in Mallorca at one of my favorite country hotels on the island, the gorgeous Hotel Ca´s Xorc, where it´s peaceful and charming.

Natalia told me she had done a precious photo shoot in the US in the afternoon when they had run out of light. Therefore, she asked me if I could do the engagement shoot early in the morning. We were a bit unlucky with the weather, as it was completely overcast, but at least we had all the light we wanted. Plus, when shooting in places such as a hotel, you need to consider that there will be other guests walking around. Early morning would mean they would all be sleeping! Except for the pool guy that is, haha!. We spent a good amount of time taking photos on every beautiful spot of Ca´s Xorc, as the couple was warming up to the camera and relaxing more and more.

Years ago I traveled to Santorini with my hubby and we planned on doing an early morning photo shoot around Oia (the most touristic part of the island and always full of masses of Chinese tourists). The idea to avoid the masses was good but my problem was that when I wake up early in the morning my eyes are puffy and I look sleepy and swollen. That would be my only tip for you if you plan on having an early morning photo shoot: bring something to de-puff your eyes, such as a bag of frozen peas, a cold compress or similar.

I loved doing this shoot and both Natalia and Nicolás were very pleased with the result.
