From your Mallorca Wedding Photographer. Updated on 25th January 2024.
Mallorca offers so many different and beautiful wedding venues that it is impossible to visit them all!
I have been photographing weddings in Mallorca for the last 20 years, and I have been lucky enough to explore some of the best Mallorca wedding venues. Lately, Mallorca has become one of the top wedding destinations for international couples, and I am grateful to have worked with many of them. The superb temperature and weather all year round, especially from April to November, make Mallorca an idyllic destination wedding location.
It never ceases to amaze me how many beautiful wedding venues we have available on the island, and every one of them is unique. There is so much variety to choose from, especially among country venues: from romantic vineyards to luxury country hotels, traditional old fincas (country estates), lavish private villas, and scenic golf courses…the island has options for everyone.
Even though we are an island, ironically, beach venues are much more difficult to find for big weddings. The beaches here are public and there are lots of restrictions. Elopements and small weddings at the beach in Mallorca are much easier to organize, in comparison with large weddings. More to come about beach venues (very soon) but for now take advantage of my extensive experience and let me help you narrow down some of the best wedding venues on the island.
Finding the perfect Mallorca wedding venue does not have to be overwhelming or a complicated process. The first thing I recommend is to pick the type of venue you prefer for your wedding or pre-wedding party. Based on your style, preferences, and budget you can start narrowing your choices down.
For example, if you want stunning sea views, do you want something by the sea with a charming rustic feel, or more like a villa or a beach club? Do you need a venue with easy access from the highway, or you do not mind a winding road in the middle of the mountains? Those are the kinds of decisions you need to make. Secondly, I would advise you to get help from a local wedding planner. They will help you find the best Mallorca wedding venue for you, the best suitable place depending upon your style, preferences, and budget. Funnily enough, I must admit that although I live here in Mallorca, every year I discover one or two new amazing wedding venues. For example, I did a wedding inspiration shoot at Sa Casa Bona last year, and before that, I had not even heard of it before. The truth is that I really liked it, for small to medium-sized weddings looking for the perfect Mediterranean feel, is perfect. Having said that, I must admit that the wedding industry is becoming very strong on the island and the infrastructure and suppliers are top-notch. No need to fly in anyone from abroad, honestly.
As for me, I wanted to contribute with my own list of favorite wedding venues in Mallorca. Most of these venues have been tried and tested, and a few are more recent additions. Remember that I have been photographing weddings in Mallorca since 2004, so I have seen a lot of venues! These venues offer beautiful locations, luxurious facilities, and excellent service to make your wedding day special and unforgettable. Of course, it’s always a good idea to research and visit multiple venues before making a final decision. In any case, I hope it will help you find your perfect Mallorca venue!
Hotel Belmond La Residencia is a luxury hotel located in the town of Deià on the island of Mallorca, Spain. It is situated in the Tramuntana Mountains, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and is surrounded by olive and citrus groves. This has to be one of my favorite Mallorca wedding venues and not only for weddings, it is also a great place for a romantic getaway, an engagement, a birthday or a honeymoon. I just love the peace there.
The hotel is known for its Art collection, which includes works by Joan Miró, Pablo Picasso, and David Hockney, among others. The Hotel collaborates with local artists, and you can find some of their artwork and products there.
What I love about La Residencia is the delicious food, the magical atmosphere, and the exquisite service the staff offers. The overall feel is an understated luxury that is not extravagant or over the top. Perfect for weddings that are not too wild or noisy. Having said that, one of the grooviest parties I have seen was at the wedding of James and Claire at Belmond La Residencia. They hired the Function Band, (no affiliation with them, I just thought they were great), and the party could not have been more fun. The wedding was later featured at StyleMePretty.
Cap Rocat Hotel is a luxury hotel located in Cala Blava, a small town on the southern coast of Mallorca. The hotel is housed in a former military fortress that has been converted into a unique and luxurious retreat. Cap Rocat Hotel is an ideal destination for those seeking a luxurious and relaxing getaway. This wedding venue has some of the most unique and stunning sea views in Mallorca.
Recently, Cap Rocat has become very exclusive, and rates for weddings have increased a lot. This venue is quite strict in terms of rules for weddings, parties and noise, so bear that in mind. This Mallorca wedding venue is also the perfect place to relax after your wedding, whether you got married on Mallorca or you just need a mini-honeymoon to get away from it all after your wedding at home. I did this gorgeous honeymoon photoshoot of Carolyn and Toby last summer at Hotel Cap Rocat, that I think will inspire you. They got married in Germany and came to Mallorca to relax after the wedding, but brought their wedding outfits to have a photoshoot here with me. It was so much fun, and you can see how much they enjoyed it on the images.
It’s a beautiful rustic finca (farmhouse) that’s surrounded by picturesque countryside. This wedding Mallorca venue is a very popular choice for weddings of all sizes. My favorite spaces are the courtyard and the charming outdoor terrace. Ceremonies are usually held in the garden overlooking the mountains. This venue is quite large and has different areas where you can hold your ceremony, cocktail and dinner. All of them with authentic Mallorca charm.
Finca Comassema is a beautiful finca in Alaró in the northern part of Mallorca, Spain. The estate covers around 500 hectares of land. It features a stunning 16th-century manor house that has been restored to its former glory.
The Finca Comassema is perfect for couples looking for that rustic and authentic Mallorcan atmosphere for their wedding in Mallorca. It is truly breathtaking and perfect if you are looking to experience the natural beauty of Mallorca. This wedding venue is surrounded by hills, lush gardens, olive groves, and almond orchards. It is a large venue so it can accommodate large weddings too.
The estate also features several charming guest rooms and suites that offer comfortable accommodations for visitors.
La Fortaleza
La Fortaleza is a stunning castle located on the island of Mallorca in Spain. It is one of the most exclusive wedding venues in Mallorca. And definitely one of my favorites! The castle offers breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding landscape, making it a truly unforgettable location for a wedding.
There are various options available for weddings at La Fortaleza, including outdoor ceremonies on the castle’s spacious grounds, as well as indoor ceremonies in the castle’s elegant and historic rooms. The venue can also accommodate receptions of different sizes, from small and intimate gatherings to large and elaborate celebrations.
It’s worth noting that the venue is highly sought after, so it’s recommended that you book well in advance to secure your preferred date.
This stunning historical estate is located on a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. It offers breathtaking views of the coastline and sunset. It belonged to the Archduke Ludwig Salvator of Austria (Sisi´s cousin). This Austrian nobleman was a conservationist for the Tramuntana hills and Mallorcan wildlife.
I know this venue well, I celebrated my own wedding there! What attracted me to this venue were the amazing sea views, as it is located on top of a cliff, plus how picturesque it is. It is surrounded by hills, olive groves and you can hear the sheep going baaaaahhh. The only issue I see with this venue right now is that you can only hire it exclusively through a couple of wedding planners. This means you are limited with the suppliers you can hire. But the place is magnificent and it might be worth the extra effort.
Hotel Cas Xorc is a beautiful and luxurious boutique hotel located in the picturesque Serra de Tramuntana mountains. The hotel is a perfect choice for weddings due to its stunning natural surroundings and elegant facilities.
The hotel has several event spaces to choose from, including the romantic garden terrace, which offers breathtaking views of the mountains and sea.
In addition to its stunning location, Hotel Cas Xorc also offers exceptional cuisine. The hotel’s restaurant serves delicious Mediterranean-inspired dishes made with locally-sourced ingredients and can provide catering for your wedding reception.
Hotel Cas Xorc is an idyllic and romantic setting for a wedding in Mallorca. It will provide a memorable experience for you and your guests.
This medieval castle, dating back to 1450, was turned into one of the most luxurious hotels in Mallorca. Hotel Son Claret was exquisitely renovated to the highest standards in 2013. It is perfect for couples looking for an understated luxury and a tranquil venue for their wedding in Mallorca. It truly is a little piece of Mallorcan paradise. The Hotel is not too far away from Palma, about 25 mins by car. It offers a range of event spaces that can accommodate all types of celebrations. I really love the country charm of this venue, which has one of the best gardens I have seen. The surroundings are very peaceful and you can take long walks and treks around the finca.
Castillo Bendinat is a beautiful castle located in the town of Bendinat, only 10 mins southwest of Palma. The castle is an exclusive and elegant Mallorca wedding venue due to its stunning location and historic charm. With beautiful views of the Mediterranean, large gardens and outdoor areas, the castle is a real piece of Mallorcan history. This is the perfect venue to create lasting memories.
I love Hotel Son Net because it is one of the most charming, romantic and authentic Mallorca wedding venues. With stunning views, it is a relaxed luxurious 5-star boutique hotel located in the beautiful countryside of Mallorca, Spain. The hotel is an elegant venue for small and intimate Mallorca weddings. It offers several options for couples who wish to have their wedding ceremony and reception on the property.
Hotel Son Net has a beautiful outdoor terrace overlooking the hotel’s lush gardens and the scenic Tramuntana Mountains. The terrace is perfect for both the ceremony and the reception and can accommodate up to 200 guests.
For more intimate weddings, the hotel offers an elegant Private Dining Room, which can accommodate up to 30 guests. The rooms feature traditional Mallorcan decor, including a large stone fireplace and stunning views of the mountains.
